A new lobbyist must register with the Ethics Commission. In order to establish an account, each individual lobbyist must submit the required information below:
- Firm, if any
- Business address
- Business telephone
- E-mail address
- Digital photograph (head and shoulders) in JPEG format, no larger than 2 megabytes
The lobbyist must pay a $500 registration fee by paying on-line with a debit/credit card or e-check, or sending a check to the Ethics Commission made payable to the City and County of San Francisco. The Ethics Commission will e-mail each lobbyist his or her unique password once the registration fee has been received.
You may elect to have a representative or firm file the electronic lobbyist reports on your behalf. To grant permission to your account, please complete the "Representatives" section of the on-line registration form. If you are already registered as a lobbyist and want to grant a representative permission to your account, please contact the Ethics Commission for assistance.
Each lobbyist must complete a lobbyist training session offered by the Ethics Commission within one year of the lobbyist’s initial registration. (San Francisco Campaign and Governmental Conduct Code §2.116). Thereafter, the lobbyist must attend additional training sessions as required by the Executive Director. Watching the following training video will fulfill this requirement.
On or before the deadline for completing any required lobbyist training session, each lobbyist must file a signed declaration with the Ethics Commission stating, under penalty of perjury, that the lobbyist has completed the required training session.
Registered lobbyists with a login and password should proceed to the login page to enter the filing system.
